The Roost isn’t a sickly slack ‘ardcore hardtail. Neither is it a spindly and steep trail whippet. It’s a proper go-anywhere, do-anything all-rounder that we’ve built for local laps and adventures further afield. It’s as home on a big mountain epic as it is your after-work power lap or the hardtail category at your next enduro.A handbuilt, zingy steel frame makes light work of rough and rowdy descents whilst mullet wheels bring that perfect balance of flick-knife and magnum. With room for a 120mm to 160mm fork you’ve got plenty of options to custom build your own perfect setup.

The tubular yoke adds big tyre clearance (room for up to 2.8″) and adds a unique style that’s a nod to our full-suspension frames. To guarantee a perfect fit the Roost is designed with specific chainstay lengths for each frame size – with 425mm on medium, 430mm on large and 435mm on extra large.

We’re proud to say that the prototype Roost has already ruffled some feathers thanks to our man Finlay Clay. Fin has won every hardtail race he’s entered on the Roost, including Ard Rock and two rounds of the PMBA. The Starling Cycles Roost is available as frame-only or as a build kit with various components available from Starling. Pre-orders are open now with frames shipping to customers in early April 2022.
