Real Wheels: She loves the view from the front

LIMA – Lynda Cook, of Lima, has ridden on motorcycles with her husband, Brian Cook, for years. But she wanted more.

“I wanted to ride my own bike, not just sit behind the driver,” said Cook.

So in 1992 she obtained her motorcycle endorsement as well as her first Harley.

“My first bike was a Harley 883 Sportster. I purchased it from Ben Breese in Ottawa,” said Cook.

The Harley Sportster has a seat height of approximately 25.5” making it easier for women to ride.

In 2000 she purchased this 1989 Harley Low Rider, 1344 cc bike.

The Harley Low Rider has a comfortable seat height for women as well.

“This bike still runs good even with 155,000 miles on it,” said Cook.

She and her husband have ridden their Harleys to Sturgis, South Dakota, three times to the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally held annually. They’ve been there 14 times throughout the years, trailering their bikes for the drive when not riding them out.

“I wanted to ride my own bike, not just sit behind the driver,” said Lynda Cook, of Lima.
