BFGoodrich Debuts ‘OnTrail’ App to Help Overlanders Explore More

Posted by admin on

Find more off-road fun with BFGoodrich Tires’ latest offering. (Spoiler alert: it’s not tires.)

BFGoodrich Tires just launched its OnTrail app to help overlanders and off-roaders with one of the toughest parts of seeking wild places in your 4×4 rig — where to go. Depending on what state you live in and which region of the country, finding a suitable dirt road or jeep trail can be a challenge.

The new OnTrail app aims to give people more access to off-road places, thanks to loads of features and a community of 4×4 enthusiasts.

BFGoodrich Offers More for Off-Roaders

Until recently, there wasn’t an easily accessible network that offered a well-defined way to navigate through twisting trails to prime adventure areas. However, companies like OnX and BFGoodrich are making it easier than ever to get your overlanding on.

Just click on the app on your smartphone or tablet, and you’ve got an extensive network of trails near you at your fingertips.

But the BFG app is more than just some maps to the gnarliest 4×4 trails. It also packs in a ton of other features to help off-roaders and overlanders, of every skill level.

“With OnTrail, we’re bringing off-road adventures to the next level, making it easy for adventure seekers to find and share the best trails based on their specific criteria,” said Harold Phillips, global general manager for BFGoodrich Tires. “We see the OnTrail app as a digital extension of our commitment to industry-leading performance.”

OnTrail App Details

The OnTrail app delivers important info that allows you to go off-road with confidence. The main features of the app include the following:

Trip Planning

Find the best trails, all easily filtered by weather, skill level, length, and reviews from others in the OnTrail community. Use community-sourced trail info to learn about hazards, obstacles, points of interest, along with other metrics like elevation and distance.

On the Trail

Become part of the community by sharing your own special spots (or just with friends and family). Users can also upload photos and info like trail conditions and dangers in real-time.

Off-Road Education

Level up your off-roading ability by watching in-depth how-to videos. OnTrail’s videos show you how to approach certain challenges in terrain, and offer quick tips on general four-wheeling and overlanding skills.

Rewarding Missions

If you’re a competitive person, the app offers integrated “missions,” like helping maintain trails or being the first to send a new trail. You can then earn badges, rankings, and points after each mission. Complete a mission or trip and you’ll be eligible for rebates and prizes.

As OnTrail expands, BFGoodrich plans to roll out more features to give ATV, UTV, and dirt bike enthusiasts access to the same maps, info, and integrated community.
