It’s more than a hat trick for BenjiLock as founder and CEO Robbie Cabral adds a TWICE PICKS honor to several Innovation Awards at CES—plus a wonderful investor in Kevin O’Leary!
What a journey it’s been! From dreams of becoming a rock star to an entrepreneurial lock star, Robbie Cabral, CEO and founder of BenjiLock, took his passion and his prototype to CES back in 2017 on a whim. The hybrid fingerprint padlock garnered a CES Innovation Award, but that’s not all. While at the show he heard about a Shark Tank casting call and was later selected [from more than 50,000 applicants] to pitch BenjiLock on ABC’s hit show. Four of the sharks made an offer, and during a tear-jerking finale, Cabral accepted a deal from Kevin O’Leary and his team at Hampton Products International. This year, among many more honors, Cabral adds a 2021 TWICE PICKS Award for the company’s brand new BenjiLock Fingerprint Bike Lock. The story is, as O’Leary says, “the essence of the American dream.”
About Benjilock
Based in Los Angeles, California, and founded in 2014 by inventor and entrepreneur Robbie Cabral, BenjiLock is redefining the personal security experience using hybrid technology with the consumer in mind. After its recent Shark Tank success, Robbie Cabral landed Kevin O’Leary as an investor with a 15% equity stake in the company. Next, he secured a licensing partnership with Hampton Products International, the leader in security and hardware innovations and makers of BRINKS locks, giving the startup over 30 years of manufacturing and production experience. Today, BenjiLock’s fingerprint technology is expanding into a portfolio of products—an upcoming line of bike locks, next-generation of padlocks, drawer closet, and cabinet locks, and a brand-new line of smart home door locks.
